Whoops, haven't posted in a little while. Here's a Christmas doodle for now! :D

In the Attic
Here are the three finished colour spreads from my latest university project, where I illustrated the text 'In the Attic' by Hiawyn Oram. The cat picture is tall because it is a fold down page in the dummy book. This was a super fun project, and working traditionally made a nice change from all the photoshop I've been doing!

There are mice in this post!
Here are a few sketches from the uni project I've been working on right now. It's the children's book project, which is super fun, but also super-lots-of-work.

Friday is Deadline Day
Hello! I've been busy with uni stuff (and it's only the beginning of the year :o), and the past two weeks we've been working on a book cover project. Here's my make-believe book. It's probably about some sort of storm...

Onwards and Upwards
Well hello hello :)
Sorry this blog has been a little quiet lately, but a combination of starting back at uni and not yet having internet in our new flat has made things more than a little awkward! Anyhow, the first week back is now over, and I actually have some work to show for it.
Basically, our first project entailed fishing a word out of an envelope and then finding different ways to illustrate it using various themes and whatnot. Can you guess what my word was? (highlight for answer: cars) I wasn't too thrilled at first, but now I think I've found a new favourite thing to draw... perhaps! :o
Hopefully the internets will be up and running come Wednesday, and I can get back to a better blogging pattern (and maybe even carry on with IF, if I have the time)!
Next project, Editorial! Tally hoooooo~

Ooooh *___*
I've just noticed Blogger's fancy new (I assume it's new) picture-clicking-ma-jig!
These are a few things I did over the break that I don't think I've posted here. They are, in order: Batman and his trusty sidekick Robin, A study of a Mary Cassatt painting, and a lady with a shrub-hat.
I'm on the train back down to University tomorrow! Term doesn't start for another couple of weeks, but it'll be fun to be back by the sea for sure! :D

Mysteriousnessness
I wonder what lives in there?
The ideas part of my brain must be a little shrivelled at the moment, because it has been refusing to work all day (not good when you have a summer project that needs finishing).
Now to sleeeeeeeep. =_=

It Looks Sheepish
A wolf in sheep's clothing
I remember I did something on idioms back at a-level, and did a little sketch that was quite similar to this. I guess this is just how I always imagine this saying to be in my head! :o

Scribbles
Hallooooooo~ I was away without internet for the past week, but now I'm back! Not that much to update with yet, hopefully that will change shortly. Here are some scribbles for now :o

Bonjour!
Here is a picture of a fabulous lady I did recently. She is probably French. Also...
...Over the summer, I've been learning to crochet (I'm in full on Granny mode right now)! This elephant-thing was made following a pattern from this book, though the weird face was my very own addition.

Marble Man
This man collects marbles. You might call it an obsession.
He also looks a bit like Father Christmas - that's because he is his second cousin.

Perennial
I found a piece of (very) old watercolour board which made me want to do some 'real' painting, since I've been doing so much digital stuff lately. I'll probably update with a more colour-accurate version once I've twiddled around in Photoshop some more (although I quite like this cooler version).
That little thing eating her skirt is a baby tapir, by the way. I want one. :D

Orange and Blue... or Green?
Because orange and blue are simply fabulous together, and I felt like drawing a pretty (spooky) mermaid. Photoshop is such a good way to play with colour without making a mess everywhere.
Edit: So I looked at this on the other (better) computer and it is definately more greeny than bluey, and a lot more, erm, zingy...

I'm thinking...
...Oversized animals might be becoming a theme on this blog? Also a close-up so you can see how messy my digital stuff really is.

Ouch! - Illustration Friday
The best remedy for your pet dragon's bump on the nose is a good plaster.
I decided to do Illustration Friday! This way I'll post at least once a week... :o
Anyway this is a very simple take on the 'remedy' theme which is as much practising with photoshop as anything else! :D

Finally free, Gulliver and other things...
So, my first year of uni is over. It went faaaaaaar too quickly :o
This is the work from my last project - I chose to create a wordless narrative for a small section from Gulliver's Travels! This is the bit where Gulliver is found by the flying city, 'Laputa'. I was hunched over my laptop like Gollum for a good few days getting this done, but it was fun to do something different! :D
And here is some sketchbook work. Just because this blog might explode if a post doesn't have something cute in it.
